Erik Van Slyke, Founding Partner

Erik Van Slyke is the founding partner of Solleva Group. With nearly two decades in consulting and HR leadership roles, he advises executives for both domestic and global organizations, representing industries such as financial services, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, high technology, retail, non-profit and government. Known for his integrated approach, his consulting expertise includes organizational change, operational transformation and HR strategy.

Prior to founding Solleva Group, Erik was the Northeast Regional Leader for the Human Capital Management practice at Buck Consultants. In addition to his regional leadership responsibilities, he advised clients extensively on managing outsourcing transitions and HR operational effectiveness. Erik also held consulting roles with Deloitte and SHL USA, and was the EVP of HR for Reuters Americas.

A frequent speaker at industry events, Erik is published in leading business journals on a variety of workplace issues and has been quoted in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, the LA Times, Fortune’s Your Company, and HR Magazine. In addition, he is the author of Listening to Conflict (AMACOM Books) named by Soundview’s Executive Summaries as a Top 30 Business Book of 1999.

Erik received his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his bachelors of arts in psychology from Hobart College.

Erik’s hobbies include sailing, gourmet cooking and restoring his 150-year old home. He lives with his wife and two daughters in picturesque Lambertville, NJ.

Peter Weinberg, Partner

Peter Weinberg is a partner with Solleva Group. Based in Chicago, he brings extensive consulting and corporate experience with deep expertise in business transformation, corporate turnarounds, and financial and talent restructuring.

Prior to joining Solleva Group, Peter led the Midwest Human Capital Management practice at Buck Consultants and advised clients on transformation strategies for implementing human resources technology and outsourcing solutions. He developed the innovative BPO Blueprinting Workshop which helps clients rapidly assess the requirements for integrated implementation of outsourced solutions and lays the foundation for a systemic approach to managing change. In addition to his experience with Buck, Peter held consulting roles at Towers Perrin and the Hunter Group.

Peter also brings fifteen years of corporate experience, including a CEO position and two CFO positions with stock exchange listed companies. A truly global citizen, he has lived and worked in South Africa, England, Ireland and the United States, and has conducted business throughout European Union and the Far East. Peter also is the managing principal of the Hadley Group.

Peter was educated at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg South Africa, and holds degrees in law, commerce and accounting. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

A past fellow of the Royal Society for Science, Art and Manufacturing, his non-work passion is the study of medieval history and the social conflict between church and state.

Luiz Botelho, International Partner

Luiz Botelho is an International Partner with Solleva Group and is based in Sao Paolo, Brazil. For 27 years, he has shared his expertise in organization development, change management, communication and leadership coaching, advising organizations in Brazil and throughout Latin America and the United States.

Before joining the Solleva Group, Luiz was a project support leader for Latin America with ACS. He implemented change management and communication, process and data standardization and knowledge sharing for 9 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to his work with ACS, Luiz was the Human Talents Director and Head of Strategic Alliances at E-Consulting Corp, the Practice Leader for Organizational Change and Learning Services at IBM-Brazil, and the Business Transformation Manager for Ernst & Young Consulting-Brazil.

Luiz majored in psychology at Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas in Sao Paulo, Brazil and graduated in marketing and communications from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing in Sao Paulo. He holds a specialization in Process Quality Management & Implementation from The Quality College at Philip Crosby Associates, Inc.

Luiz writes and speaks fluently in Portuguese, Spanish and English fluently and is proficient in French and Italian. He also is a partner with CookingClass, a management training and teambuilding event company in Sao Paolo.

Hameedah Merchant, Associate Partner

Hameedah Merchant is an Associate Partner with Solleva Group. Based in San Francisco, CA, she has nearly ten years in global human resources and HR consulting as well as a solid background in operational and financial process management. Her areas of expertise include HR strategy and transformation, talent management, and change management, driving success global HR projects in high-tech, financial services, and other industries.

Most recently, Hameedah was an HR consultant with Sun Microsystems where, among other roles, she was a project manager and training lead for the Global Job & Career Architecture Initiative which aimed to standardize jobs and titles across business units in 52 countries. Before that, she was a senior consultant in the Human Capital Management practice of Buck Consultants, an HR Business Consultant with Gap, Inc., and an assistant vice-president of HR with Merrill Lynch.

Hameedah has a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Outside of work, Hameedah dedicates her time to the Aga Khan Development Network, and among other roles, was part of a committee supporting talent selection and placement of US professionals for international careers and volunteer assignments within the AKDN. She lives with her husband and son in San Francisco.

Kathy Margolin, Associate Partner

Kathy S. Margolin is an Associate Partner with Solleva Group and is based in Stow, Ohio. She brings extensive consulting and corporate experience with expertise in change management, HR operational strategy, leadership and team building, business process outsourcing, policies and procedures design, and international and domestic relocation.

Prior to joining Solleva Group, Kathy was an HRO Strategic Business Unit Director for ACS where she advised clients on international and domestic relocation and recruiting. Kathy also led the international service delivery team in the design of technical procedures, knowledge management quality standards, implementations and communications. In addition to her work with ACS, Kathy held management roles with SIRVA Relocation for over 10 years.

Kathy was educated at Kent State University and she holds designations of SCRP, GMS and is a member of many different committees nationwide. In 2008 Kathy was awarded the ACS Hustle award for exceptional service.

In her personal life, Kathy has a strong desire to give back and was the chairman for the Ohio Reach Out committee which supports such charities as The Providence House, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Cleveland and Akron's Children's Hospital and part of the American Red Cross Disaster Recovery Team. In her spare time you might also see her pursuing her passions in the kitchen or on the golf course.
